The ideal starting point to discover the Alps
Not for nothing is Innsbruck considered the capital of the Alps.
Emperor Maximilian ruled a large empire from here more than 500 years ago. Times have changed. Now you can take a modern funicular - just a 5-minute walk from the hotel - up the Nordkette. The stations look like sculptures. They were designed by world-renowned architect Zara Hadid. At the top, at 2,400 metres above sea level, you have a fantastic view of the Inn Valley and the surrounding mountains of the Karwendel.
Innsbruck has a lot to offer, but all in a very small space.
In the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Schwarzer Adler Innsbruck are the Landesmuseum, the Volkskunstmuseeum and the Hofburg. The historic Old Town with the Golden Roof and Innsbruck's central shopping mile - Maria-Theresien-Strasse - are also within walking distance. Only a few steps from the hotel, the beautiful Hofgarten invites you to take a short break in your city stroll. You can also reach the Landestheater or the Congress Innsbruck directly.
Skiing in winter - hiking in summer.
Did you know that hardly any other city is as sporty as Innsbruck? No wonder with the surroundings. From Innsbruck you can reach several ski resorts with all the possibilities that winter sports have to offer: In addition to the classics such as skiing and snowboarding, ski touring or freestyling is also possible, for example. In summer Innsbruck's local mountain, the Patscherkofel, attracts with its 86 hiking trails. But you don't even need to leave Innsbruck to experience the Alps. The city itself invites you to stop for a bite to eat with six rustic alpine pastures.
